Christmas Decorations

Though I won't be spending Christmas at home, I have been told to make get the Christmas decorations for my family. To be precise, I was ordered (read nagged) by my family to do the necessary decorations before leaving for my vacation.
For me, the only thing that cannot be done away in decorations are the lights. You might not bring the Christmas tree in one year, but you cannot make your home look nice without the beautiful candles or the icicle lights.
Then come the Christmas wreaths. History tells us that the ritual of putting up wreaths in the room or hanging them before the door comes from the Roman culture where decorative wreaths symbolized victory. These are believed to be the symbols of life and mirth against the bitter winter. One can get good decorative piece of artificial wreath at any online-store . As for the Christmas tree, it has not been decided whether this year a real tree will come or the artificial ones as usual.

Jingle Bells - The Timeless Christmas Song

Christmas Song: Jingle Bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way...

You hear this classic Christmas song countless number of times, and still it does not bore you! In fact, you teach your children and grandchildren this Christmas song which was first sung in 1857 in a church in Savannah, GA. James Lord Pierpont (1822-1893) wrote the song for Thanksgiving service but it was so well accepted that it was again sung on Christmas and became the most famous Christmas jingle of all time.
The popularity of the song can be discerned from the fact that it is said to be first song played on space. On December 16,1965, astronauts Wally Schirra and Tom Stafford in the spaceship Gemini 6, played a prank on mission Control saying that they have seen an UFO with a “pilot in red suit”. Then the astronauts played “Jingle Bells” on harmonica along with the sleigh bells as background music.

I found a karaoke of this song in Youtube .

Christmas Cakes

I had done enough of of looking for good travel tour packages. Finally it has been decided that we will visit the Caribbean Islands this winter if our plan goes well. If I won't be in the city I will miss the home-made cake the most. My mom just make delicious cakes and that too of different type every year. My friend Sandra is also planning to try her hand in making Christmas cakes this year. I know that she is not very fond of kitchen and suggested her to start practicing the baking of cakes I just send her a Christmas cake recipe and some tips so that she won't treat the guests with a burned cake on Christmas.

Christmas in Europe

It seems that we might not even visit San Fransisco or New Jersey this Christmas as we still could not decide upon our destination. But I have learned a good deal about the tour packages all around the world. Since I shared information about almost all famous destinations across the globe why Europe should be left? So I was just surfing the net for any last minute tour package available. And I did found packages like Delightful Christmas Europe Tour () and others, last minute information about hotel rates and rentals

Christmas on Carribean Islands

As I had anticipated Jack completely turned down the idea of Asia Tour on Christmas . :(
Asia tour would need at least 15 days to one month which is not feasible for him Moreover we should have planned it much earlier for such a long vacation. To some extent even I was quiet apprehensive about it as we have so less time in hand. Sandra just dropped the idea of a Carribean visit on this Christmas holidays. Not a bad idea! I saw some good tour packages like
Western Caribbean Cruise onboard Liberty of the Seas
Southern Caribbean Cruise onboard Serenade of the Seas
Freedom of the Seas
Imperial Majesty Bahamas Cruise and other packages

And for those who are making th last minute plans like us there are some good packages here http://www.modernagent.com/Resources/Editorial.aspx?n=31150

Christmas in Asia

Have you ever thought of spending your Christmas Holidays under the sea watching the fishes pass by, and marvel at the underwater flora and fauna? I wish I could be rich enough to afford holidays at any one of the underwater luxury spots . Sigh! Sigh!

Since Jack wants to spend his Christmas away from the usual snow, frost and chilled weather, I was just thinking about a vacation in Asia. The top holiday spots in Asia are

Phuket and Bangkok(Thailand)- While the vibrant, colorful Bangkok city with its gleaming skyscrapers and historical temples display a fusion of modernity and old world charm, Phuket is the picture-perfect island with amazing beaches that draw crowds from worldwide.

Kualalumpur(Malaysia)
- This modern capital of Malaysia can leave many of the European cities far behind when it comes to the modern facilities and rich heritage.

Egypt- This country is full of historical places and architectural heritage.

Vietnam- This is a small country with picturesque beauty and rich culture.

India- India is so vast that it will take about a month to explore its riches.
Also you may try China and Japan for their unknown treasures

But I don't think Jack will be willing to go for a long Asia tour. Let me speak with him first.

Christmas Tour packages to Australia

Since Jack was so keen on going to Australia this Christmas, I thought of having a look at the travel packages to Australia during late December. There are few packages which I found interesting. There are different kind of packages like Adventure Tour Packages to Australia , Grand Australia Tour along with an extended tour to Fiji, All of Australia – Multi city tours and other packages . I find the three packages by three groups- Qantas Vacations, TravelWizard and Pacific Holidays quiet interesting and reasonable.

Vacation in Christmas

While surfing the net I found something about the Seven New wonders of the world. From the previous list of wonders, only Taj Mahal from India and Great Wall of China could retain their places. The rest of them are new entries. Three of them are from South America – Macchu Picchu of Peru, Chirst Redeemer from Brazil and Chichen Itza from Mexico. I wish I could visit at least one of these wonders this year. Jack is still harping upon going to Australia, but I need to check out in detail about the hot tourist spots. I did not get the time to explore but today I will definitely spend time on it. Chirstmas is only about two months away. We have to make plans fast.

Christmas Vacation Plans

Jack has given an idea of visiting Australia this Christmas. The reason for his desire to visit the continent are not kangaroos or the Sydney Opera House but because it's summer time in the southern hemisphere during Christmas! Jack wants to experience Christmas in the summer. He wants to have a unique Christmas without the snow, frosts and chilled weather of the winter Not a bad idea. But I have to think over it. I still have not gathered any information about the hot tourist spots of this year. So stay tuned on my plans for Christmas vacation!

Planning for Christmas

I just spoke with three of my buddies about my plan to go somewhere this Christmas. Well! Sandra just plainly said on my face that she would like to spend this Christmas with her family in NY :( Jack seems to have liked the idea but was not very sure. It was only Jeffrey who jumped on hearing my plan :) But we still have no clue where to go.
